According to the International Affairs and Non-Iranian Students of Persian Gulf University, on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, a meeting was held to expand academic cooperation between Persian Gulf University and the University of the Aegean, with the participation of officials from the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Athens. Thanks to the efforts of the ambassador and the cultural attaché, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for academic and educational cooperation between the two universities reached its final stage.

Based on this MoU, the two universities will collaborate in various fields, including academic exchanges, faculty and student mobility, joint thesis supervision, and the organization of both short-term and long-term educational programs. The purpose of these initiatives is to strengthen academic, educational, and research interactions between Iran and Greece.

During the meeting, Dr. Arash Khosravi, the Director of International Affairs and Non-Iranian Students at Persian Gulf University, highlighted the two universities' proximity to the sea and their shared academic fields, expressing hope that this MoU would lead to joint missions and yield positive, constructive outcomes for both parties.

He also invited professors and students to identify potential capacities and take practical steps toward implementing joint inter-university projects. According to Dr. Khosravi, Persian Gulf University has introduced special incentive packages for joint activities, including support for study opportunities between the two universities and access to international research grants available to both parties.

In conclusion, Dr. Khosravi announced plans to organize joint cultural festivals between Iran and Greece, centered around Persian Gulf University and the University of the Aegean, expressing hope that such collaborations would mark a new chapter in the development of cultural and academic relations between the two countries.
