THE 2024: Persian Gulf University among the top six universities in Iran in the international Outlook

Times Higher Education (THE) revealed the World University Ranking 2024 showing a stunning improvement in the rank of PGU amongst Iranian universities in the indicator International Outlook compared to the 2023 ranking. Proudly, PGU ranks #6 in the International Outlook  amongst the 75 Iranian universities in THE's World University Ranking 2024. With a score of 38.2 in the international Outlook indicator, PGU is in the same class as the University of Nevada (USA), Istanbul University (Turkey), Universidad de Valladolid (Spain) and Montana State University (USA).

It is noted that Times Higher Education (THE) is one of the most recognized ranking systems that evaluates universities from all around the world using indicators of research quality, industry, international outlook, research environment, and teaching, and evaluates universities in several competitive groups such as young universities, Asia Universities. It is worth mentioning that Persian Gulf University has managed to stabilize its global position in engineering and technology (Rank 800-1000) and the overall ranking of the 2024 global ranking (1201-1500).

Presently, 5% of PGU’s full-time students are international and from several countries including India, Nigeria, Madagascar, Iraq, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, studying at bachelor's, master's, and doctorate levels. Additionally, students from more than 32 countries have been participating in short-term educational programs held by PGU. In recent years, academic staff and student exchange contracts, memorandums of understanding, sabbatical leaves, and international research activities of Persian Gulf University have grown significantly, resulting in more than 46% of publications with the collaboration of international institutions, and more than 30 active MoUs with different countries.
