“Shab-e Chelleh: Yalda in the History and Literature of the Cultural Iran” was held with strong attendance from international students. The event examined the Yalda Night (Shab-e Chelleh) tradition from historical and cultural perspectives across the wider realm of Cultural Iran.
Dr. AsadPoor, a faculty member of the Department of History at Persian Gulf University, stated: “Yalda Night, also known as Shab-e Chelleh, is one of the oldest and most meaningful historical traditions of Iranians, which has endured for thousands of years and continues to be celebrated with grandeur throughout the vast expanse of Cultural Iran.”
He added: “The longevity of this ancient festival among Iranians is rooted in its profound and meaningful concepts, which have inspired not only Iranian culture but other cultures and civilizations as well.”
